This article is from 2017 and somehow outdated. Will be updated soon.

Basic Information[]

Toy Drive Targets are red and white target discs of different size that will spawn when any Trog Trap is placed and the Trog Trap Event "Snowball Target Practice" (tier 1-3) is randomly initiated.

Similar looking targets could be spawned by players on a Mob Spawner during Elfi's Toy Drive from December 13th 2017 to January 10th 2018. These player-spawned targets are always of the same size and around 2 blocks in height, and different from event-specific targets they move around and make sounds like they were Creatures.

All Toy Drive Targets are solely vulnerable to Snowcubes, but not to any common Weapons nor Explosives - much like Target Arctic Mirus.

One direct hit by a Snowcube will make Toy Drive Targets dissolve in a puff of smoke, no matter if thrown by players or by Snowball Turrets. They won't drop any Loot Bags.

Event-specific Toy Drive Targets can even hit player characters that get too close to them and by that will push player characters back and nearly always also deal cold damage over time for 3-4 seconds.

Health requires 1 hit with a Snowcube to its disk
Time to Tame: cannot be tamed
Attack(s): Whack: will slap player characters close by with its disk, which often deals cold damage over time for 3-4 seconds and will push player characters back as well
Location: near wherever a Trog Trap is placed, during day or night

General information[]

Toy Drive Targets cannot be encountered nor obtained on any common Creativerse game worlds. They are Christmas-specific objects that will spawn in order to be defeated during Trog Trap Events (not necessarily around Christmas) and can also be spawned by players by using Mob Spawners (only around Christmas during the seasonal Holiday event).

Toy Drive Targets look like objects, but can act like Creatures (different from Pine Trees that spawn during "Pining for you" Trog Trap Events).

They are target discs with round boards that have white and red circles painted on them of different size mounted on white poles that can range from practically invisibly small to 3 blocks in height.

These targets will appear after a Trog Trap has been placed by players when the Trog Trap Event "Snowball Target Practice" (tier 1-3) is randomly initiated.

Small Trog Traps can be obtained for free via daily login chests during the seasonal Christmas event Elfi's Toy Drive that lasts for ca. one month around Christmas. Medium and Large Trog Traps are rewards for completing Trog Trap Events and can also be bought and claimed as rewards for Elfi's Community Toy Drive during the seasonal Christmas event after these rewards have been unlocked by players participating in the event.

  • Targets for tier 1 initiated by Small Trog Traps have large discs and are one-sized, their poles are so low that the target discs are very close to the ground.
  • Many targets for tier 2 initiated by Medium Trog Traps have smaller discs than for tier 1, some of them are positioned higher up on longer poles.
  • Targets for tier 3 initiated by Large Trog Traps nearly always have smaller discs than for tier 1, many of them are positioned high up with longer poles and such harder to hit properly.

Similar looking targets can sometimes be spawned by players on a Mob Spawner around Christmas for ca. one month, like it has been the case during Elfi's Toy Drive from December 13th 2017 to January 10th 2018.

These targets spawned from Mob Spawners are always of the same size and around 2 blocks in height, but different to event-specific Toy Drive Targets they will immediately start to move around like they were Creatures. When being hit with melee Weapons (which will not reduce their "health" bar/durability and such will not make them vanish), targets spawned on Mob Spawners will defend themselves with melee attacks and will even make squeaking sounds similar to those of Pigsies. Only Snowcubes can defeat them.

Event-specific Targets and also those spawned on a Mob Spawner are solely vulnerable to Snowcubes, but not to any common melee Weapons nor Explosives - exactly like Target Arctic Mirus (that appear only for "Snowball Fight" Trog Trap Events initiated by Small Trog Traps and will attack player characters by throwing Snowcubes from a distance).

One direct hit by a Snowcube to their target discs will make Toy Drive Targets disappear in a puff of smoke, no matter if thrown by players or by placeable Snowball Turrets.

The same goes for Target Arctic Mirus that are also only vulnerable to Snowcubes and not to any other Weapons or Explosives. Target Arctic Mirus can even be eliminated by "fellow" Target Arctic Mirus, since these Creatures appear in groups and can cause "friendly" fire when hurling Snowcubes.

Toy Drive Targets look like objects, but can act very similar to Creatures in that they can hit player characters in a very close proximity and will not only push them back but almost always also deal cold damage over time for 3-4 seconds. This applies to Toy Drive Targets summoned for "Snowball Target Practice" Trog Trap Events as well as to Targets that are spawned by players on a Mob Spawner.

When eliminated after being hit once by a single Snowcube (either by players or by Snowball Turrets), Toy Drive Targets will never drop any Loot Bags, not even special Holiday Loot Bags.

Instead, these seasonal objects will always just vanish in a puff of smoke after being hit by a Snowcube. Players will receive a Reward Holiday Gift Box that will only spawn after the Trog Trap Events "Snowball Target Practice" has successfully been completed in time.

Spawning[]

Toy Drive Targets are objects of distraction used by Troggington (albeit they are not Troggington's Minions) and such they are randomly summoned by this seasonal Frost Trog after he has been trapped in a Trog Trap. There is no way for players to control which type of event will activate, since Troggington is the one to "decide" about this randomly.

These event-specific targets will only appear when a Small Trog Trap, Medium Trog Trap or Large Trog Trap initiates the event "Snowball Fight" (tier 1-3). This event, like all other Trog Trap Events, can be started anytime during day and/or night.

Toy Drive Targets cannot be spawned on Mob Spawners (anymore) outside of Christmas event-times. It might be possible that Mob Spawners will become able to spawn Toy Drive Targets in the future once again though, especially when the Christmas event Elfi's Toy Drive will again take place.

If Toy Drive Targets are spawned by Mob Spawners intentionally by players, they will always of one size with medium sized red and white discs on a white pole around 2 blocks in height.

Different to event-related randomly spawning Toy Drive Targets, those spawned by Mob Spawners will start to move around right away like peaceful Creatures usually do. However, they are defensive just like event-specific Toy Drive Targets.

Targets spawned on Mob Spawners can make squeaking sounds like Pigsies when being hit with melee Weapons - which will not make them disappear though, since they are only vulnerable to Snowcubes. When attacked, hurt or agitated otherwise, targets that were spawned on Mob Spawners will turn against player characters like defensive Creatures and hurt them, very often dealing cold damage over time for 3-4 seconds.

Please note that Mob Spawners are not intended to let you "farm" infinite animal loot. Instead they are Machines that will spawn specific Creatures or also Toy Drive Targets as a fighting challenge, intended to be used within Adventures created for other players to play.

Creatures as well as targets spawned on Mob Spawners do not drop any loot and cannot be tamed. However, Adventure creators can provide the first Creature or target that will be spawned with customary loot that other players will then receive when killing this Creature / eliminating the target.

As said: even when spawned with a Mob Spawner, these very special objects will again only be vulnerable to Snowcubes, but not to any common Weapons or Explosives.

Behavior[]

Toy Drive Targets that appear within a certain proximity around either a Small Trog Trap, a Medium Trog Trap or a Large Trog Trap can be considered "aggressive" towards player characters, since the targets will attack player characters within a certain proximity even if players have not aggravated them.

However, event-specific Toy Drive Targets are immovable and are only able to whack player characters that get very close to them. Since these targets are not able to move from their spot, they cannot pursue player characters by themselves. They can only be eliminated with one hit to their discs by a Snowcube.

Toy Drive Targets are not well visible in the dark despite their pale color. Such, it is recommended to place any Trog Traps into well-lit arenas that have been prepared beforehand.

In comparison to that, Toy Drive Targets that are spawned on a Mob Spawner by players during Christmas event-times will behave differently.

At first, these player-spawned targets will start to move around like peaceful Creatures usually do, but will immediately start to "defend" themselves by actively "hunting" and whacking player characters in melee combat after players have aggravated them; like attacking them with a melee Weapon for example. This will also make targets make sounds that are the same as a common yellow Pigsy's squeak.

Combat

Toy Drive Targets can easily be defeated by hitting their discs with just one Snowcube. Hitting their poles will not faze them. They are immune to damage dealt by melee Weapons and Explosives.

It is recommended to avoid getting too close to Toy Drive Targets, since they are able to whack player characters that get too close to them and deal cold damage over time for 3-4 seconds.

Instead, placing Snowball Turrets is recommendable as a means of help with eliminating Toy Drive Targets.

Snowball Target Practice (Tier 1 with large targets)[]

First, several piles of 3-4 Snowcubes each will appear at once within a certain proximity around the Small Trog Trap so you can collect your "weapons". When collecting them all, you should be provided with ca. 25-30 Snowcubes (less than for "Snowball Fight"). Snowcube piles are indicated on your compass with their own small icons again. Ca. 15 seconds later, the first of eight waves consisting of ca. 1-4 red-and-white Toy Drive Targets (most often 2). Targets for tier 1 have large discs and are one-sized, close to the ground.

You are supposed to hit all of the Toy Drive Targets with well-aimed Snowcubes as quickly as you can, thrown from a stack of Snowcubes in your quickbar by clicking your right mouse button. Try to hit them all within the time span that is displayed on screen.

Red compass markers will indicate where each target is positioned.

For Tier 1 events you will be granted only a bit less than 1 minute starting with the spawning of the first target/s. Toy Drive Targets won't throw Snowcubes at you like Target Arctic Mirus do during "Snowball Fight" events, but if you get very close to a Toy Drive Target, it actually will hit your player character! This will almost always deal cold damage over time for 3-4 seconds and will push your player character upwards and back as well.

Tip: best prepare at least one stack of Snowcubes even before starting any Trog Trap events, so you won't run out of Snowcubes for this event. To craft Snowcubes, simply put blocks of Snow into a Processor.

Snowball Turrets have become craftable after the third reward bundle of Elfi's Community Toy Drive was unlocked with 25 million Toys on January 3rd 2018 for those who claimed the Snowball Turret Bundle until January 10th 2018.

Placing Snowball Turrets on the ground during this event is extremely recommended! Snowball Turrets are of immense help with events like this one, and also for "Snowball Fight"s (tier 1) that will spawn aggressive Target Arctic Mirus that can use ranged attacks by throwing Snowcubes at player characters.

You can buy helpful Snowball Turrets from Elfis that will spawn in cold biomes during the Christmas event (like from December 13th 2017 to January 10th 2018). 5 Snowball Turrets will "cost" only 50 Rescued Toys.

Pick up the Turrets again before 90 seconds are over, then you can re-use them! Snowball Turrets have also become craftable after the third reward bundle of Elfi's Community Toy Drive was unlocked with 25 million Toys on January 3rd 2018 for those who claimed the Snowball Turret Bundle until January 10th 2018.

Please note that Toy Drive Targets are really only "vulnerable" to Snowcubes. Even if you attempt to hit Toy Drive Targets with the strongest melee Weapons, they won't take any damage at all.

Remember that Snowcubes fly in an arch when you aim at the targets! The further away the targets are, the higher you should aim.

These targets of course never drop any Loot Bags (respectively Holiday Loot Bags), since they aren't Creatures - even though Targets can actually move around when you spawn them with a Mob Spawner around Christmas and and will make squeaking sounds if you hit them with melee Weapons (which cannot make them disappear though).

If you do not get very close to any of the Toy Drive Targets, you won't even need any armor nor health regeneration/healing measures for this event.

Snowball Target Practice (Tier 2 with small and large targets at different heights)[]

Like for Tier 1 Snowball Target Practice, 5 seconds after the announcement of the event type, several piles of 3-4 Snowcubes each will appear at once within a certain proximity around the Medium Trog Trap so you can collect these ranged "weapons". When collecting them all, you should have been provided with ca. 25-30 Snowcubes in total (again, less than for "Snowball Fight"). Snowcube piles are indicated on your compass with their own small icons once again.

Ca. 15 seconds later, the first of eight waves consisting of ca. 2-4 red-and-white Toy Drive Targets will spawn. These targets for tier 2 often have smaller discs than for tier 1, some of them are positioned higher up with longer poles and such harder to hit properly.

Again you are supposed to hit all of the Toy Drive Targets with well-aimed Snowcubes, thrown from a stack of Snowcubes in your quickbar by clicking your right mouse button. Try to hit them all within the time span that is displayed on screen. For Tier 2 events you will also be granted only a bit less than 1 minute starting with the spawning of the first target/s.

Toy Drive Targets will again hit your player character if you get very close to them. This will almost always deal cold damage over time for 3-4 seconds and will push your player character upwards and back as well.

As before, it is recommended to prepare at least one stack of Snowcubes even before starting any Trog Trap events, and to place Snowball Turrets for assistance.

"Snowball Target Practice" tier 2 is sometimes only rewarded with a Medium Trog Trap instead of a Large Trog Trap.

Snowball Target Practice (Tier 3 with mainly small targets in different heights)[]

Like for Tier 1 and 2 Snowball Target Practice, several piles of 3-4 Snowcubes each will appear at once within a certain proximity around the Medium Trog Trap so you can collect these ranged "weapons".

These targets for tier 3 nearly always have smaller discs than for tier 1, some of them are positioned higher up with longer poles and such harder to hit properly.

Again you are supposed to hit all of the Toy Drive Targets with well-aimed Snowcubes, thrown from a stack of Snowcubes in your quickbar by clicking your right mouse button. Try to hit them all within the time span that is displayed on screen.

For Tier 3 events you will also be granted only a bit less than 1 minute starting with the spawning of the first target/s. Toy Drive Targets will again hit your player character if you get very close to them. This will almost always deal cold damage over time for 3-4 seconds and will push your player character upwards and back as well.

Loot[]

When eliminated, Toy Drive Targets will not drop any Loot Bags nor Rescued Toys by themselves.

Instead, only after players manage to accomplish the given event goal (eliminate all the targets in time), a special Reward Holiday Gift Box will appear that will contain:

plus usually 2 random stacks of consumables, materials and/or items

plus usually 3-8 random stacks of consumables, materials and/or items

plus usually 5-8 random stacks of consumables, materials and/or items

The Trog Trap Event assortment of random consumables, materials and/or items consists of:

and/or other items like that.

Taming[]

Toy Drive Targets cannot be tamed and also cannot be picked up or made to "work" for players. They are tools that only Troggington III can use at will.

The same goes for Pine Trees that are immovable and can't hurt player characters, but will be "summoned" for Trog Trap Events of tier 1 and 2, called "Pining for you".
