Retro Hardened Lava painted Chocolate/Navy Blue

Retro hardened lava forge

Basic information[]

The Retro Hardened Lava is a cubic building block that is patterned with glowing orange spots separated by black lines. It is part of the Super Retro Bundle recipe pack in the Store.

In most ways, this block behaves similarly to Hardened Lava - it gives off the same amount of heat, and can be used in the Forge as a Fuel in the same way. However, it will not change in cold environments, which makes it a good choice for keeping Liquids from freezing in cold places. It will also not change when hit with a Fire Bomb or Gauntlet Smash.

How to obtain[]

Retro Hardened Lava can be crafted in your Crafting Menu (to be opened by pressing "q" as the default key), but only after the according crafting recipe has been unlocked by buying the Super Retro Bundle from the Store. You can also obtain it by buying a building kit for a Blueprint that contains Retro Hardened Lava blocks.

How to unlock the crafting recipe[]

The crafting recipe for Retro Hardened Lava can be unlocked by buying the Super Retro Bundle from the Store. There is no other way to obtain the recipe.

How to craft[]

To craft 8 (blocks of) Retro Hardened Lava, you'll need:

How to use[]

Retro Hardened Lava can be placed into the game world for building purposes by putting (a stack of) them into your quickbar, selecting the according quickslot and clicking the right mouse button while pointing at a spot in the game world with your cursor.

Retro Hardened Lava is a hot block that emanates heat that will make the heat meter appear on your screen. As long as your player character is staying on or close to Retro Hardened Lava blocks it will slowly be filled with red color. As soon as the heat meter is full(y red), fire damage over time will be dealt to player characters and flames will appear on the bottom of your screen (similar to the fire damage that Hot Feet can deal). It can also cause Flammable objects to catch fire.

Like all other building blocks, blocks of Retro Hardened Lava can be rotated into all directions by pressing and holding R and then pointing the mouse cursor at the block and moving the mouse while holding the left mouse button. The chosen rotation angle can be "locked" too by simply typing "r" while looking at an already rotated object or block; then all items of the same stack in the selected quickslot will automatically be facing the same direction when placed.

Like most other placeable items, Retro Hardened Lava can be painted, with the primary color influencing the color of the glowing parts, and the secondary color affecting the black lines, although it is very hard to see due to the original color being so dark. They can also be put into displays, where they will be shown at a reduced size.

You won't need any Power Cells (Mining Cell) to pick up blocks of Retro Hardened Lava blocks that have been placed into the game world. Of course you won't be able to pick up such objects on game worlds, on player claims or in Adventures where your Permission rank is not sufficient (mainly when you are merely a visitor), which can only be changed by the owner of the game world, claim owner or Adventure creator.

Retro Hardened Lava can be used as a Fuel in a Forge. They are (heat) level 2 Fuel like Hardened Lava. 4 Retro Hardened Lava blocks are required for one forging process each.
