Limestone Stairs are building blocks cut into an L-shape made of white blocks.
Usually placed as stairs they will smooth the player-character's movement up and down gradients so no jumping is necessary. They can be placed as projections of walls or for other purposes too when being rotated by pressing and holding R (as the default key) while moving the mouse.
Limestone Stairs can be crafted in your Crafting Menu (default key "q"), but only after the according crafting recipe has been unlocked by
- crafting (or taking) Limestone Walls, and
- creating Limestone Slabs from ordinary cubic blocks of Limestone Walls by simply putting them into a Processor. It is not possible to create Limestone Slabs from harvestable limestone blocks!
The crafting recipe for Limestone Wall is unlocked in return by mining Limestone from the Fossil layer with at least a Stone Mining Cell, and by obtaining Obsidian bars by putting Obsidian Ore into a Forge, and by crafting Stacked Stone Walls from ordinary Stone.
8 Limestone Walls each can then be crafted with
- 4 (blocks of) Limestone
- 1 Stone Rod made of Stone, Limestone or Bedrock in a Processor
- 1x Melted Wax made of Beeswax in a Forge or found in Wood Treasure Chests or Stone Treasure Chests
To craft 4 (blocks of) Limestone Stairs at once, you'll need
- 2 Limestone Slabs made of Limestone Wall in a Processor
- 1 Stone Rod made of Stone, Limestone or Bedrock in a Processor
- 2x Melted Wax made of Beeswax in a Forge or looted from Wood Treasure Chests or Stone Treasure Chests
Since R42 in May 2017, inner and outer corners blocks can be created for these stairs too by putting them into a Processor. No crafting recipes are required for this.
