Basic Information[]
Iron Chairs are usable and decorative pieces of furniture that can be activated to make your player character sit down. They look like being made from sturdy wood with rusty riveted iron joints and a comfortable greenish yellow furnishing fabric.
How to obtain[]
Iron Chairs cannot be found in Treasure Chests nor be obtained from any Creatures.
These items of furniture can be crafted in your Crafting Menu (to be opened by "Q" as the default key), but only after the crafting recipe for these chairs has been unlocked.
How to unlock the crafting recipe[]
The crafting recipe for Iron Chairs can be unlocked by:
- crafting (or taking) an Obsidian Chair, which is unlocked after crafting a Stone Chair
- extracting Iron Ore extracted from Iron Nodes found on the Stalactite layer underground or discovered in Iron Treasure Chests or Diamond Treasure Chests
- crafting Iron Walls from Iron Bars, Obsidian Rods and Melted Wax
How to craft Iron Chairs []
To craft 1 Iron Chair in your crafting menu, you'll need:
- 1x Melted Wax made of Beeswax in a Forge or found in Wood Treasure Chests or Stone Treasure Chests, or obtained from Keepas of any kind as a loot or pet-harvest
- 4 Iron Rods made of Iron Bars in a Processor. Iron Ore can be extracted from Nodes on the Stalactite layer underground, or found in Iron Treasure Chests or in Diamond Treasure Chests
- 2 Iron Slabs made of Iron Bars in a Processor
Crafting an Iron Chair is one of the unlocking requirements of the crafting-recipe for Diamond Chairs.
How to use Iron Chairs[]
To make your player-character sit down, place the chair into the game world, then activate the chair by right-clicking or typing "f" (as the default key) while looking at it. Tables placed in front of the chair won't block this process, instead your player-character will sit down at the table.
You can fully rotate Iron Chairs in every direction (so you can use it for decorative purposes), however graphic glitches or displacements can happen when player characters sit down on or stand up from a chair that is placed sideways or upside down.
Since update R32 you won't need to equip any Power Cells to pick up any kind of crafted objects or blocks that have been placed into the world. Of course you won't be able to take these on claims of other players (or in game-worlds) where your permission rank is set low.
