Basic Information[]

Ghost Creatures were introduced during the Halloween event 2016, returned during Christmas event 2016-2017 and were then added to the list of spawnable Creatures on the Mob Spawner. They returned for Halloween 2017 with different kinds of loot and health points, and then again for Halloween 2018 and could now be tamed too (except if spawned on a Mob Spawner).

The following 5 types of Ghost Creatures are known:

Spawning naturally[]

During event times - mainly around Halloween - these Creatures will spawn at night in dark places. They are flight animals, and will start to flee when players approach, similar to Keepas.

Since the Halloween 2018 update R57 on October 24th 2018, Ghost Creatures can be tamed, but only after spawning "naturally", since Creatures spawned on Mob Spawners are not supposed to be tameable.

When hit by sunlight, they burned and vanished (without leaving any loot behind like all Night Creatures). If kept in dark places, they were able to survive during the day though.

During event-times Ghost Creatures usually showed up a little later than common night creatures (that will start to spawn around 10:37-10:47 PM), and when hit by sunlight, Ghost Creatures would start to burst into blue flames around 5:12 AM and perish more quickly than common Night Creatures usually do.

Ever since the Pumpkiru's Candy Campaign that started in October 2017, and in 2018 too, all Ghost Creatures require 3 hits with any type of Sword or Melee Weapon to be killed, no matter if with a Twig or a Lumite Sword. This now applies to Ghost Creatures that can be spawned on Mob Spawners too. The weapons (except for Twigs) will lose durability when fighting Ghost Mobs.

Ghost Creatures that had spawned before update R47 had different health points and required less hits with stronger melee weapons, but more hits with weaker weapons.

Spawned by players[]

All Ghost Creatures can be spawned by using Mob Spawners that have to be wired to activation devices like Sensors, Switches, Pressure Plates or the like in order to be activated and spawn Creatures.

Mob Spawners cannot be used to farm infinite animal loot, instead they are tools intended to create Adventures that will then be enjoyed by other players.

Player-spawned Creatures can be "filled" with custom loot by the player who sets up the Mob Spawners - however only the first spawned creature will then drop all of the provided loot when being killed. No Creature spawned by a Mob Spawner will provide any loot by itself otherwise.

Creatures spawned by a Mob Spawner cannot be tamed, only killed.

Combat[]

Since the first Pumpkiru's Candy Campaign in 2017, Ghost Creatures (Ghost Pigsies, Ghost Leafies, Ghost Chizzards, Ghost Rocksters and Ghost Mirus) now require 3 hits with any melee Weapon to be killed, even with just a Twig that has infinite durability. Any other melee weapon than the Twig will lose durability and in the end break when fighting Ghost Creatures.

The occasional critical hits dealt by players who have achieved the Brawler Badge do not make a difference at all if it comes to Ghost Creatures - these Creatures will still always require 3 hits dealt by any melee Weapon. In like manner, 3 AOE Gauntlet Smashes have to be performed in order to kill Ghost Creatures.

Also, 3 common Explosives like Explosive Bombs and Vlad-a-Rangs will have to be thrown to kill Ghost Creatures, but 3 mere Rimecones and even 3 Stun Bombs will be equally lethal to them. If you use Explosives that deal additional elemental damage over time, you will only need 2 of them if you can manage to hit Ghost Creatures directly, including Snowcubes. Globs of Goo will only slow these Creatures down though.

It is recommended to use an expendable weapon when hunting many Ghost Creatures during Halloween or else to entirely remove the current weapon to fight with the unbreakable Twig instead (simply click on the weapon in your weapon equipment slot next to your player character model to the right side of the inventory).

Rare Ghost Creatures like Ghost Mirus and uncommon Ghost Creatures like Ghost Chizzards or Ghost Rocksters did not drop Ghost Loot bags more often than more common Ghost Creatures like Ghost Pigsies or Ghost Leafies, they did not have a higher chance to drop Haunted Idols, more Pumpkiru Candy nor would their Ghost Loot bags contain any "better" nor more random loot.

Ghost Creatures will start to burst into blue flames in the morning (starting at 5:12) when sunlight hits them, wich also applies to player-spawned Ghost Creatures (by using a Mob Spawner) and will quickly burn away, even faster than common Night Creatures. Ghost Creatures would not drop any Ghost Loot bags in this case, except if they were player-spawned and players had placed items into the inventory of the Mob Spawner.

Please note that any Ghost Creature that you or other players will spawn on/with a Mob Spawner will not drop any loot if you or other players won't provide any items for this yourselves.

Ghost Creatures can be healed by being purified with Purification Bombs, Healing Beacons or Mineral Water.

Loot during Halloween 2018[]

During the second Pumpkiru's Candy Campaign that started with update R57 on October 24th 2018, every Ghost Creature dropped a Ghost Loot Bag after being killed.

Once in a while, such a special blueish transparent Loot Bag would contain 1 Haunted Idol and nothing else.

Most often, these Ghost Loot Bags would contain 1-2 Pumpkiru Candy (every time, tradeable at any of the Pumpkirus that spawn here and there at night) and randomly 3 to 4 stacks of:

Loot during Halloween 2017[]

Ghost Creatures returned for the first Pumpkiru's Candy Campaign event that started with update R47 on October 18th 2017 and ended on November 15th 2017.

During this Halloween event month 2017, most Ghost Creatures would not drop any loot, but instead vanish in a puff of smoke when defeated.

In 2017, only every fifth to seventh Ghost Creature would drop a "Ghost Loot" Bag that would randomly contain:

Loot during Halloween 2016[]

Ghost Creatures were implemented with update R35 on October 13th 2016 and spawned during the event "Haunted Nights" that ended on November 1st. They returned once more for the "Festive" Season event that lasted from December 16th 2016 to January 25th 2017.

During these event times in 2016 all "naturally" spawning Ghost Creatures dropped a common leather Loot Bag when killed. These Loot Bags were randomly filled with uncommon Halloween themed items and/or their rare tradeable crafting recipes:

Plus/or random small amounts of Goo, Bones, Weeds, Dead Grass, Coal, (rarely) Wood Slabs, (rarely) Stone Slabs and/or (rarely) Shredded Leaves. The minimum loot of "naturally" appearing Ghost Creatures during event times in 2016 consisted of only Goo, but they were also able to drop up to 8 stacks of other stuff.

Ghost Pigsies[]

During event times, mainly around Halloween, Ghost Pigsies appeared during (ingame-)nights on solid blocks on the surface of nearly all Biomes except for Frozen Oceans.

Ghost Pigsies could also spawn on artificial biomes and on surface blocks that have been placed underground, even in the Corruption layer; however very rarely, and of course only at night during the according event times. If underground, they tended to flee to the surface when feeling threatened, where the sunlight would kill them.

Ghost Pigsies will have to be hit 3 times with any Melee Weapon to be killed, no matter if a Twig or Lumite Sword. The weapons (except for Twigs) will lose durability when fighting Ghost Mobs. The AOE Gauntlet Smash has to be used 3 times as well in order to kill one Ghost Pigsy.

After being tamed in 5 seconds, Ghost Pigsies will prefer Pumpkiru Candy as their favorite food and their pet-harvest consists of 1-6 Pigsy Droppings (always when fed well), plus randomly 1-3 pieces of Leather, 1-3 Bones, 1-3 Globs of Goo, 1-3 Sinews and/or 1-2 Crystal Shards.

Ghost Leafis[]

During event times, mainly around Halloween, Ghost Leafies appeared during (ingame-)nights on the surface on solid blocks of nearly all Biomes except for Frozen Oceans, unlike common Leafies that only spawn directly on or close to trees.

Ghost Leafies could also spawn on artificial biomes and on surface blocks that have been placed underground, even in the Corruption layer; however very rarely, and of course only during night-times. They tended to flee to the ground when feeling threatened and they usually avoided Caves, different from common Night Creatures.

Ghost Leafies will have to be hit 3 times with any Melee Weapon to be killed, no matter if a Twig or Lumite Sword. The weapons (except for Twigs) will lose durability when fighting Ghost Mobs. The AOE Gauntlet Smash has to be used 3 times as well in order to kill one Ghost Leafi.

After being tamed in 5 seconds, Ghost Leafies will prefer Pumpkiru Candy as their favorite food and their pet-harvest can randomly consist of 1-3 Leafi Leaves (not always!), 1-3 Vines, 1-3 Yellow Flowers, 1-3 Sinews (more often than other Creatures), 1-3 Globs of Goo, 1-3 Bones and/or rarely 1 piece of Leather.

Ghost Chizzards[]

During event times, mainly around Halloween, Ghost Chizzards were uncommon Ghost Creatures that appeared during (ingame-)nights on solid blocks (most often Sand) on or very close to Shores.

Ghost Chizzards did not spawn on Shorewood or in Jungles like Night Chizzards do. They could have been be able to show up on artificial biomes and on surface blocks that have been placed underground, however even more rarely than other Ghost Creatures, and of course only at night during event-times.

Ghost Chizzards will have to be hit 3 times with any Melee Weapon to be killed, no matter if a Twig or Lumite Sword. The weapons (except for Twigs) will lose durability when fighting Ghost Mobs. The AOE Gauntlet Smash has to be used 3 times as well in order to kill one Ghost Chizzard.

After being tamed in 5 seconds, Ghost Chizzards will prefer Pumpkiru Candy as their favorite food and their pet-harvest can consist of Chizzard Eggs (always when fed well), plus randomly 1-3 Chizzard Gizzards (often), and/or sometimes 1-3 Blue Flowers, 1-3 Sinews, 1-3 Bones and/or 1-3 Globs of Goo.

Ghost Rocksters[]

During event times, mainly around Halloween, Ghost Rocksters were rare Ghost Creatures that appeared during (ingame-)nights on solid blocks (most often on Sand) on or close to Shores.

Ghost Rocksters could have also spawned on artificial biomes and on surface blocks that have been placed underground, even in the Corruption layer; however rarely, and of course only during night-times.

Ghost Rocksters will have to be hit 3 times with any Melee Weapon to be killed, no matter if a Twig or Lumite Sword. The weapons (except for Twigs) will lose durability when fighting Ghost Mobs. The AOE Gauntlet Smash has to be used 3 times as well in order to kill one Ghost Rockster.

After being tamed in 5 seconds, Ghost Rocksters will prefer Pumpkiru Candy as their favorite food and their pet-harvest consists of 1-3 Rockster Rocks (always when fed well), plus randomly 1-2 (blocks of) Corals, 1-2 (blocks of) Magnetite, 1-2 (blocks of) Mud, 1-3 Bones, 1-3 Sinews and/or 1-3 Globs of Goo.

Ghost Mirus[]

During event times, mainly around Halloween, Ghost Mirus were rare Ghost Creatures that randomly appeared during (ingame-)nights in Caves in the Stalactite layer and more rarely on the Fossil layer during event times.

Ghost Mirus usually didn't leave their caves, so even after spawning at night they were able to stay alive for as long as player characters stayed close and wouldn't kill them.

All Ghost Creatures were non-aggressive, no matter if spawned on a Mob Spawner or spawning by themselves during event times, but it seems that Ghost Mirus were less easily scared by player characters than other Ghost Creatures. They still flee when player characters start to attack them though, and then behave much like Keepas, not defending themselves in any way.

Ghost Mirus will have to be hit 3 times with any Melee Weapon to be killed, no matter if a Twig or Lumite Sword. The weapons (except for Twigs) will lose durability when fighting Ghost Mobs. The AOE Gauntlet Smash has to be used 3 times in order to kill one Ghost Miru too.

After being tamed in 7,5 seconds, Ghost Mirus will prefer Pumpkiru Candy as their favorite food and their pet-harvest can consist of 1-3 Miru Eyes (always when fed well), plus randomly 1-3 Brown Mushrooms, 1-3 Bones, 1-3 Globs of Goo, and/or rarely 1-3 Glowing Mushrooms.
