Basic Information[]

You can craft different types of chests and comparable containers in Creativerse and place them into the game world in order to store blocks, materials, liquids and other items.

Permission settings allow you to define a permission rank that has to be matched or outranked by other players in order to access the storage; including a "just me" setting that will only allow world owners to access your items. If you are on your own world, nobody else has access to storage containers set to "just me".

Presently, all existent storage chests and boxes in Creativerse are the size of only 1 block. They do not require any free space above them to be opened. They cannot be "combined" to form larger storage containers together.

Except for Red Gift Boxes, Green Gift Boxes and Blue Gift Boxes, all storage containers can be rotated into all directions even when filled. They cannot be picked up with any items inside though, only when they have been completely emptied.

Storage chests can be opened/activated by placing them at first, then pointing your cursor at them and either clicking the right mouse button or typing "f" (as the default key). Then their storage window will open to the right side of your inventory window, and all sorts of items, liquids, materials and blocks can be transferred to the chests. The maximum amount of available slots for each chest is displayed in the bottom right corner of their respective storage window.

All Storage chests in Creativerse can be crafted, some can be obtained as part of Store bundles or item kits, like building kits that you can buy as part of Building Kits for (customizable) Blueprints.

Also, other players who own rare recipes of specific storage containers can craft them for you on your game world (items are not transferable between worlds).

Please note that receiving crafted storage containers will not unlock their according crafting recipes in your Crafting Menu.

Storage Chests[]

1. Wood Chests[]

can store 25 stacks of items since the "Big" update R55 on August 22nd 2018. With the same update, stacks were extended to 999 units at max.

These "cheap" storage chests can be crafted right away, since their crafting recipe is already unlocked at the beginning of the game.

Crafting them requires 2 pieces of most kinds of Logs or natural Wood blocks from any tree, 2 (blocks of) Beeswax and 2x tree Vines.

2. Wood Book Shelves[]

can also store 25 stacks of items since the "Big" update R55 on August 22nd 2018.

They can be crafted after their crafting recipe is unlocked by crafting or obtaining blocks of Wood Walls (these cubic building blocks are craftable from any natural Wood blocks using a starting crafting recipe that is already unlocked in your Crafting Menu).

One Wood Book Shelf is then craftable from 6 Wood Slabs, 1 Stone Rod and 1x Melted Wax. Slabs and Rods can be produced in a Processor. Melted Wax can be created from Beeswax in a Forge, together with some Fuel.

3. Stone Chests[]

can store 35 stacks of items since the "Big" update R55 on August 22nd 2018.

They can be crafted after their crafting recipe is unlocked by crafting or obtaining a Wood Chest and crafting or finding a Stone Mining Cell.

One Stone Chest is then craftable from 4 Stone Slabs, 1 Stone Rod, 2 Wood Slabs and 1x Melted Wax.

4. Arctek Chests[]

can store 45 stacks of items since the "Big" update R55 on August 22nd 2018.

5. Grand Arctek Chests[]

can store 60 stacks of items since the "Big" update R55 on August 22nd 2018.

They can be crafted after their crafting recipe is unlocked by crafting or obtaining an Arctek Chest and crafting or obtaining a Stone Chest.

One Grand Arctek Chest is then craftable from 2 Arcstones, 4 Stone Slabs, 1 Stone Rod and 1x green Glob of Goo.

6. Heart-Shaped Boxes[]

can store 45 stacks of items since the "Big" update R55 on August 22nd 2018.

They can be crafted after their crafting recipe is obtained for ca. one month around Valentine's Day either from a time-limited Store-exclusive bundle or a gift code. Their crafting recipe cannot be shared by fellow players, since it is account-bound and no duplicates of this recipe could be obtained.

One Heart-Shaped Box can then be crafted from 2x Wood (or Logs), 5 Flowers (any kind), 1x Twine and 1 Arcstone. This recipe was changed with update R55 too.

7. Pumpkin Chests[]

can store 45 stacks of items since the "Big" update R55 on August 22nd 2018.

They can be crafted after their seasonal rare crafting recipe is bought from any of the Pumpkirus that will spawn for ca. one month around Halloween. The recipe has to be paid with Pumpkiru Candy that can be obtained by successfully completing Idol Events and/or hunting Ghost Creatures.

Their crafting recipe can be shared by players who have collected duplicates, but not via Adventures. After learning this rare crafting Recipe (that will be consumed by that), you can craft these storage chests.

One Pumpkin Chest can be crafted from 1x Wood (or Log), 1 Haunted Pumpkin, 1x Leafi Leaf and 1 Arcstone. This recipe was changed with update R55 too.

Filling and emptying storage containers[]

Storage containers have to be placed into the game world in order to be filled with items. If placed into other containers or on display, they cannot store any items inside.

You can simply sort whole stacks of materials, blocks, items or substances into storage chests from your inventory or quick-bar by right-clicking or dragging & dropping with your left mouse-button. If you hold a stack of stuff with your mouse-button (left click), you can drag it over the chest and then right-click to drop only one piece of the stack (also repeatedly).

You can also hold left shift + left click, then drag to move half a stack, or hold left shift + right click to move five items. You can use the same kind of procedures to move items/stacks from storage containers into empty slots of your quickbar (will be filled first) and your inventory/bag.

Naming storage containers[]

You can name each storage chest individually (this label will be shown over your health bar together with its permission rank when you look at the chest) by activating/opening the chest and then clicking on the icon that looks like a square note with a pen in the top right corner. You can type up to 30 characters into the text array and confirm this with "enter"/"return". Please note that some words might be considered inappropriate and such cannot be confirmed.

Permission settings[]

You can change the Permission settings for each chest by clicking on the padlock icon shown in the top right corner after activating/opening the chest. Here you can set individual authorizations to control who will be permitted access to this chest (and its contents).

Available world permission-settings: "just me", "world owner/admins", "world mods", "builders" or "everyone". On player claims the available settings are "just me", "claim admins", "claim interact only", "claim builders" and "everyone".

Since update R40, all storage containers are now set to "builders" by default when being placed. So only players with builder rights/permission rank either on your game-world or on your claim (claim permission ranks override world permission ranks) can access your storage containers. Please note that players who can move something inside your chests and/or take something out can also pick up the chests (when empty) and take them.

If chests are set to "visitor", everyone can access chests and can even take them away.

Only on player claims a special permission rank "claim interacts only" will allow players with the same permission rank to access a chest, but not to take it away. For more details, please refer to the article Permissions.

Transfer history[]

By clicking on the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner, you can see a "Transfer History" listing the last 5 filling and 5 removal actions with the according player names and time of their access to the storage chest.

Moving storage containers[]

Many storage containers can be fully rotated in all directions by pressing and holding R and moving the mouse while holding the left mouse button. The three Christmas Gift Boxes can only be rotated sideways though, and it is not possible to flip these chests on their side or turn them upside down. The chosen rotation angle can still be "locked" too by simply typing "r", so that all items of the same stack will be placed facing the same direction.

Only empty storage containers can be picked up - without requiring any Power Cells. Of course you won't be able to take any containers on claims of other players (or in game-worlds) where your permission level is set low.

Only Medieval Chests and Hidden Temple Chests require at least a Stone Mining Cell to be equipped in order to be picked up, but this is most likely unintentional and should be fixed at some point.

Lesser number of slots[]

If you have placed storage containers of any kind onto a Creativerse game-world before August 22nd 2018 or even before August 2016, you might only be able to put less stacks of items into the chests, because most chests have been granted more slots with update R33 and then again with update R55 - which did not influence storage containers that had already been placed into game worlds.

In order to gain access to all their new functions and to have more available slots, you will have to empty these chests completely, pick them up (no Power Cell is required to pull any of them anymore, except for two Store-exclusive ones) and then place the chests again. When filling them, you will notice the higher number of slots.

Display Containers[]

Several objects in Creativerse can be crafted to exhibit a specific range of objects, blocks, materials, liquids and/or other items. You cannot put much into them and they are not exactly "storage containers" per se.

Display containers would be Wood Planters, Flower Pots, Stone Wall Shelves, Placemats, Hidden Temple Altars, Galactic Grav-Chambers, Frozen Containers, Holiday Decorative Trees, Snow Buried Containers, Holiday Mantles or Cabernatious Cabinets.

Please note that most display containers will only accept one item per slot, and even though you can override this limit if you click quickly or use drag & drop, this is not recommended, since this bug exploit might be fixed any time and would cause you to lose all surplus items except for one.

When placing display containers and activating them (right-click or "f" as the default key), a large window on the left side will temporarily replace the inventory window and will only list the items that can be transferred into the slots of the respective display.

Most of these displays will resize the items that they contain into a smaller size for display. Display containers offer the opportunity to view 3D models of Foodstuff, Crops, Arcstones, Mushrooms or Pigsy Droppings, as well as Explosives, Snowcube and Rimecones - these items can not be placed anywhere into the game world, only put on display.

Seeds, Saplings and Queen Bee can be put into display containers like Wood Planters and Flower Pot, but despite the name of these display containers and the decorative sparkles of Seeds, no Crops, Trees or Beeswax will grow in them. The Planter and Pot exist merely for reserving and decorative purposes.

A few items will look differently on display than when simply being placed into the game-world, for example Teleporters, Adventure Gates or Beacons. Items that are 2 blocks in size, like beds and fireplaces, might not fit well into specific display containers; while large items of 2 blocks in height can stick out of low container spaces like cabinet shelves for example.

One-way containers[]

Other containers in the game cannot be used for storage purposes, like

  • Loot Bags that are dropped by dying Creatures or dismissed Pets,
  • randomly spawning Treasure Chests,
  • reward chests that spawn after successfully completed Idol Event and Trog Trap Events,
  • Player Bags dropped by other players,
  • Death Statues that drop after player death or can also be crafted (since 2019),
  • or crates that contain Building Kits that you can optionally buy for Blueprints with all the blocks and items inside that are required to build an (optionally customized) Blueprint.

All of these containers are one-way only, you can take items out of them and empty them, but you cannot put anything inside. You will also not obtain the containers themselves after you've taken all their content - Death Statues are special in that they contain a placeable decorative Death urn that cannot be filled with items.

Player Bags[]

All Players can drop bags that work a lot like Loot Bags in order to give items to other players without taking the trouble to set up a chest with suitable permission settings for the exchange.

However, please note that these player bags do not suit the purpose of storage items, since the purple bags will vanish not long after all players have left the area, even if they have not completely been emptied!

When opening your inventory/bag, you will note the bag icon in the bottom right corner next to the Trashbin. You can drag and drop items from your inventory into this bag, which automatically lets a player-bag drop into the game-world under your player character's feet, filled with these items that you have dropped. You can use the right mouse button to just drop one item, or you can split items, just like when transferring items into storage.

You can add more things to your own bag/s as long as you keep the inventory open and keep dropping stuff. If you take one step aside and drop more stuff into the bag, a second bag will appear with these items in it. When taking everything out of these bags, no bags will be added to the inventory, just the items that were inside.

When leaving these bags half-emptied, they will vanish after a while if all player characters have left the area.

The same goes for chests, bags and other containers that have been spawned on Loot Spawners. They will prevail for a longer time, but will eventually vanish when no players are close anymore, even if they have not been completely emptied.

This also holds true for Loot Bags that were dropped by Mobs spawned on a Mob Spawner.

The only loot that Creatures can drop after being spawned by a Mob Spawner is the loot that players themselves put into the storage window of the Mob Spawner - only the first Creature will then drop all of this loot into a Loot Bag upon dying.
