R35 Update Haunted Nights
Haunted Nights was the name of the Halloween event 2016.
Similar to the Christmas event that is available for a limited time (usually ca. one month) from mid-December to mid-January, Haunted Nights ran from October 13th 2016 to November 15th 2016.
During Haunted Nights, ghost versions of Creatures such as Ghost Leafies, Ghost Pigsies, Ghost Chizzards, Ghost Mirus or Ghost Rocksters appeared at night (a little later than 10:43 PM) and perished in sunlight like common Night Creatures.
These ghosts were non-aggressive, did not defend themselves and would instead most often flee when player characters approached.
Ghost Creatures could not be tamed. But when killed, they randomly dropped Goo, Bones, Weeds, Dead Grass, Coal (rarely), Wood Slabs (rarely), Stone Slabs (rarely), Shredded Leaves (rarely), plus these Halloween items and/or their crafting recipes:
- Haunted Wood Wall
- Haunted Stone Wall
- Haunted Wood Floor
- Haunted Stairs
- Haunted Carpeted Stairs
- Haunted Roof
- Haunted Sconce Lamp
- Haunted Gravestone
- Haunted Wood Door
- Haunted Pumpkin
Please note that you can spawn Ghost Creatures with a Mob Spawner too, but in this case the spawned non-tameble ghosts will not provide you with any crafting recipes nor items when killed, unless players have put such recipes into the inventory of the Mob Spawner.
The Mob Spawner is not intended to let you "farm" infinite amounts of loot quickly, it is instead intended to be used to create game content for other players, for examples via Adventures.
With update R46 in September 2017, the exploit that allowed rare Holiday Recipes to be learned via Adventures was fixed. It is still possible to learn these Recipes by visiting players on their game world who have stored surplus duplicates of the Recipe Books or Recipe Pages. These items will be consumed when learning the according Recipe.
Once learned, seasonal rare Recipes are permanently added to your Crafting Menu and become available on all game worlds, even those with the "Pro" world option "recipes don't carry over" ("fresh start") enabled.
A new Blueprint was added for the occasion of this event too: the Haunted House. This Blueprint was not a temporary, but a permanent offer to be found in the "featured" section in the Blueprint TAB (next to the inventory/bag, craft and map TABs).
