Basic Information[]

Blazing Pie is a type of consumable Food that can be cooked in a Cooking Station.

If consumed, a Blazing Pie will grant 150 additional points to the maximal health points of all player characters (no matter if F2P or "Pro") and fire damage will heal them; all for the duration of 15 minutes.

Please note that the heat meter/scale (that shows up and fills in hot biomes like on the Lava layer) will not go down when consuming Blazing Pies though. Instead, this Food will transform the fire damage into a healing effect when your player character starts burning and takes heat damage over time after the heat scale has filled (with red color); and also the burning damage when your player character touches liquid Lava and/or when your player character is dealt additional burning damage when being attacked by Hot Feet, Warmworms, Wraithworms or W'urm The Infernal) and/or Shrewdshrews. Also, the fire damage inflicted by Fire Bombs or Flaming Skulls will be transformed into healing when PvP is enabled on the player claim and/or the game world (enabled by default) and also Fire spreading is enabled (disabled on player claims by default).

Blazing Pies can also be fed to Pets and put on display in/on display containers of all kinds. It is recommended to only feed Blazing Pies to Pets that prefer Blazing Pies as their favorite type of Food.

How to obtain[]

Blazing Pies can be cooked by inserting the necessary ingredients into a Cooking Station. Cooking Stations can be crafted and have to be placed into the game world and activated (by clicking your right mouse button or typing "f" as the default key) in order to be used for cooking.

Since Food can only be placed into display containers but not into the game world as is, it cannot be bought via building kits for Blueprints, because items in display containers of Blueprints are merely "ghost images", not actual items that you could take out and use.

How to unlock the crafting recipe[]

The one recipe you'll need to cook/bake all kinds of Pies - including Blazing Pies - will be unlocked by cooking or obtaining basic Soup for the first time, which you can cook in a Cooking Station by selecting the Soup recipe and inserting 2x ordinary Water or Molasses as a liquid plus 7 Vegetables ( 4x either Turnips or Crisphead Lettuce plus 3x either Turnips, Crisphead Lettuce, Horned Melons or any kind of Mushrooms). If you use Molasses instead of Water, you can also use 3 Blizzard Chizzard Eggs or 3x Questionable Jerky as ingredients to cook ordinary Soup.

Please note that only the basic Soup will unlock the recipe for Pies. Baking any other types of Soups (like Bog Broth, Egg Drop Soup or Corrupted Soup for example) will currently not unlock any cooking recipes.

The Cooking Station features only 4 recipes that will enable you to cook up to 36 different types of Food depending on the ingredients you will insert into the slots of the Cooking Station.

How to cook[]

In order to cook Blazing Pies, you'll have to place a Cooking Station into the world and activate it (right-click or default key "f") while pointing your cursor at it. Depending on the ingredients that you will insert into the slots after selecting the Pie recipe, different kinds of Pies can be produced.

To cook 2 Blazing Pies at a time in a Cooking Station, you'll need to select the recipe for all types of Pies and insert:

Also 1 Blizzard Chizzard Egg can be combined with Turnips, Lettuces, Mushrooms or 3 common Chizzard Eggs to bake a Blazing Pie, as long as liquid Lava is used too - and less than 4 Blizzard Chizzard Eggs in total.

Optionally, Chizzard Eggs can also be pet-harvested from Ghost Chizzards that can be tamed during the annual Halloween event-month and/or from Poultrygeists that can be tamed during Idol Events that can be initiated by placing Haunted Idols.

No other combinations of ingredients, especially no other types of liquids can be used to cook Blazing Pies. If other liquids are used, different types of Pies will turn out (see below). If you use Horned Melons together with liquid Lava, Melon Pies will be cooked. If you insert Questionable Jerky together with liquid Lava, then Chizzard Pot Pies will be created. If you use 4 Blizzard Chizzard Eggs together with liquid Lava, then Frigid Pies will be the results.

How to use[]

When consuming a Blazing Pie, your player character (no matter if F2P or "Pro") will be granted a bonus of 150 points to their maximum health and burning will not reduce health points, but instead restore the health of player characters over time, all for 15 minutes.

The heat meter/scale that shows up when being close to heat-emitting blocks/objects in hot environments like on the Lava layer deep below or in some hot surface biomes will not go down when consuming Blazing Pies though. Instead, consuming this Pie will transform burning damage into a healing effect. Your player character can take such burning damage over time after the heat scale has filled (with red color), and/or when your player character touches liquid Lava and/or when your player character is dealt additional burning damage when being attacked by Hot Feet, Warmworms (also Wraithworms or W'urm The Infernal) and/or Shrewdshrews. Also, the Fire damage from Fire Bombs or Flaming Skulls will be transformed into a healing-over-time effect when PvP is enabled on the player claim and/or game world (enabled by default) and fire spreading is enabled (disabled on player claims by default) at the same time.

You can consume Blazing Pies by putting a stack of them into your quickbar, selecting the according quickslot and clicking your right mouse button or typing the number of the quickslot. Alternatively you can drag this food (stack) with the left mouse button over your character's 3D model on the right side of the inventory and drop it there.

Only one Blazing Pie of a whole stack will automatically be consumed. A short cooldown prevents you from consuming another Blazing Pie right away. If you eat more Blazing Pies (by right-clicking or dragging & dropping again) shortly after an already consumed one, the effects/buffs will merely prolonged to 15 minutes anew.

All types of Food can be fed to Pets. Pets cannot starve, but you can only harvest animal materials from them after you have fed them.

Pets that prefer to eat Blazing Pies as their favorite Food will not provide you with their best harvest if you feed them any other types of Pie, like a Melon Pie made with Horned Melons just for example. According to the same principle, Pets that love Corrupted Pies made with Corrupted Water (for example) will not provide you with their best harvest if you feed them Blazing Pies.

Like nearly all Foodstuff, Blazing Pies can be put on display by placing them into the slots of Wood Planters, Flower Pots, Stone Wall Shelves, Placemats, Galactic Grav-Chambers, Hidden Temple Altars, Frozen Containers, Snow Buried Containers, Holiday Decorative Trees, Holiday Mantles, Cabernatious Cabinets and the like.

Food cannot be rotated when on display, but most display containers can be rotated together with all the items inside of them. Food cannot be placed into the game world directly.

Other types of Pies[]

Various types of Pies can be made by clicking on the basic Pie recipe in the Cooking Station and then inserting different ingredients. Depending on the ingredients, different variants of Pies can be cooked:

How to obtain cooking ingredients[]

Wheat can be grown (with a Plow) from Wheat Seeds which can be occasionally obtained while harvesting Tallgrass or Savannah Tallgrass. You have to plant these seeds under fitting conditions (on tilled soil with Water or other suitable liquids adjacently) to receive Wheat.

Turnips can be found growing by themselves in Forests or even more often in Swamplands. By putting them into the Processor, Turnip Seeds will be produced that can be planted under fitting conditions (on tilled soil with Water or other suitable liquids adjacently) to receive more Turnips.

Crisphead Lettuce can be found growing by themselves in Forests or under trees in other Biomes. By putting them into the Processor, Lettuce Seeds will be produced that can be planted under fitting conditions (on tilled soil with Water or other suitable liquids adjacently) to receive more Lettuces.

Horned Melons can be found growing by themselves in (dangerous) Jungles only, which makes them rare discoveries. By putting them into the Processor, Horned Melon Seeds will be produced that can be planted under fitting conditions (on tilled soil with Water or other suitable liquids adjacently) to receive more Melons.

Wild Bamboo can be found growing by themselves in (dangerous) Jungles only, which makes them rare discoveries. By putting them into the Processor, seeds will be produced that can be planted under fitting conditions (on Grass/Dirt/Mud with Water or other suitable liquids adjacently) to receive more Wild Bamboo.

Mirror Grass can be found growing by themselves in Woodlands or Swamplands. By putting them into the Processor, seeds will be produced that can be planted under fitting conditions (on Grass/Dirt/Mud with Water or other suitable liquids adjacently) to receive more Mirror Grass.

Desert Succulent can be found growing by themselves in Canyons, Dunes or Shores. By putting them into the Processor, seeds will be produced that can be planted under fitting conditions (on Grass/Dirt/Mud with Water or other suitable liquids adjacently) to receive more Desert Succulents.

Prickly Pal Cactus can be found growing by themselves in Dunes or Shores. By putting them into the Processor, seeds will be produced that can be planted under fitting conditions (on Grass/Dirt/Mud with Water or other suitable liquids adjacently) to receive more Prickly Pal Cactuses.

Big Pokey Cactus can be found growing by themselves in Dunes. By putting them into the Processor, seeds will be produced that can be planted under fitting conditions (on Grass/Dirt/Mud with Water or other suitable liquids adjacently) to receive more Big Pokey Cactuses.

Chizzard Eggs can only be obtained from tamed Chizzards or Night Chizzards that spawn on Shores on Shorewood, in Jungles or more rarely in Canyons. You can only harvest Eggs from them after you have tamed them so that they have become your Pets and when you have fed them their preferred type of Food.

Blizzard Chizzard Eggs can only be obtained from tamed Blizzard Chizzards. Blizzard Chizzards usually spawn during the day on Snow in Taigas, Tundras, on frozen Oceans or frozen plains. You can only harvest frigid Eggs from them after you have tamed them so that they have become your Pets and when you have fed them their preferred type of Food.

Questionable Jerky can be made in a Forge from either Chizzard Gizzard or Blizzard Chizzard Gizzard - these Gizzards can be obtained from any kind of Chizzard, either from their Loot Bags or by harvesting from them if they are your Pets.

Leafi Leaf can be obtained from Leafies that spawn near most kind of Leaves, either as loot or pet harvest.

Autumn Leafi Leaf can be obtained from Autumn Leafies that spawn in Autumnwoods, either as loot or pet harvest.

Filet o' Karrotfish can be obtained as loot from Karrotfish that spawn in Water or Mineral Water.

Pork Chops can be obtained as loot or pet harvest from most Pigsy and BossHog variants, except Corrupted Pigsy.

Poultry Parts can be obtained as loot or pet harvest from most Chizzard variants or Parroki that spawn in Jungles, Shores and Savannah.

For Food, any type of Mushrooms can be used; Red Mushrooms that grow in patches of five units in Forests, Woodlands, Swamplands and Grassland; also Brown Mushroom that can be found embedded in Dirt directly under the top layer of most Biomes, especially at the entrance of Caves; and also the rarer Glowing Mushrooms that can be found on the Stalactite layer embedded in rocks and can be mined with an Obsidian Mining Cell.

Ordinary Water can be scooped up from rivers, lakes or oceans without requiring any Power Cell.

Mineral Water can be found on the Stalactite layer, from oases in Canyons or made by purifying Corrupted Water and scooped up with a Diamond Mining Cell or better.

Tar can be found on the Fossil layer or Stalactite layer underground and scooped up with an Iron Mining Cell or better.

Bog Water can be found in Swamplands on the surface and scooped up with a Diamond Mining Cell or better.

Liquid Lava can be found on the Lava layer or can be made by throwing Fire Bombs at Hardened Lava, and then can be scooped up with a Diamond Mining Cell or better.

Corrupted Water can be found on the Corruption layer or made by throwing Corrupt Bombs at ordinary blue Water, and can then be scooped up with a Diamond Mining Cell or better.
