The Better Home Coffee Maker is an interactive item that looks like a light blue coffee maker. It is part of the Even Better Home Bundle.
Interacting with a Better Home Coffee Maker after placing it, either by aiming at it and pressing 'f' or by right-clicking, will give you a 5-minute buff that increases your speed and gives your character a lightning effect, similar to the Quick⢠potion.
How to obtain[]
Better Home Coffee Makers can be crafted in your Crafting Menu (to be opened by pressing "q" as the default key), but only after the according crafting recipe has been unlocked by buying the Even Better Home Bundle from the Store.
Like all other placeable items, you can also obtain Better Home Coffee Makers by buying a building kit for a Blueprint that contains Better Home Coffee Makers.
How to unlock the crafting recipe[]
The crafting recipe for the Better Home Coffee Maker can be unlocked by buying the Even Better Home Bundle from the Store. There is no other way to obtain the recipe.
How to craft[]
To craft one Better Home Coffee Maker, you'll need:
- 2 blocks of Glass made in the Forge from Sand
- 1 Magnetite found in the Fossil layer or obtained as loot or pet harvest from Warmworms, Night Rocksters or Rocksters
- 1 Arcstone obtained as loot or pet harvest from any kind of Keepas or Baby Leafis
- 1 Coal extracted from Coal Nodes with Extractors, found in Treasure Chests (except Obsidian Treasure Chest), or obtained as loot or pet harvest from Keepas
How to use[]
Better Home Coffee Makers can be placed into the game world for building purposes by putting (a stack of) them into your quickbar, selecting the according quickslot and clicking the right mouse button while pointing at a spot in the game world with your cursor.
Interacting with a Better Home Coffee Maker after placing it, either by aiming at it and pressing 'f' or by right-clicking, will give you a 5-minute buff that increases your speed and gives your character a lightning effect, similar to the Quick⢠potion. This effect stacks with other speed-increasing items like Quick⢠potions and Speed Potions - having all three of them active at the same time makes it pretty easy to outrun the world loading speed.
Unlike consumable items, iteracting with the coffee maker again while the effect is active will not reset the buff timer - you will have to wait for the buff to end (or cancel it by freeing the mouse with the right Alt key and clicking on the effect) before you can drink another coffee.
Like most other placeable items, Better Home Coffee Makers can be rotated into all directions by pressing and holding R and then pointing the mouse cursor at the block and moving the mouse while holding the left mouse button.
The chosen rotation angle can be "locked" too by simply typing "r" while looking at an already rotated object or block; then all items of the same stack in the selected quickslot will automatically be facing the same direction when being placed.
Like most other placeable blocks, Better Home Coffee Makers can be painted, with the primary color influencing the color of the coffee machine, and the secondary color influencing the color of the coffee pot and the buttons of the coffee machine. They can also be put into displays, where they will be shown at a reduced size.
You won't need any Power Cells (Mining Cell) to pick up Better Home Coffee Makers that have been placed into the game world. Of course you won't be able to pick up such objects on game worlds, on player claims or in Adventures where your Permission rank is not sufficient (mainly when you are merely a visitor), which can only be changed by the owner of the game world, claim owner or Adventure creator.
