The Armored Tortoise Potion is a potion that hugely reduces the damage you take, but also halves your speed and jump height. It was added during the Halloween event of 2020.
Unlike most other potions, Armored Tortoise Potions can be put into displays, where it will be shown as a round glass bottle with a brown cork.
How to obtain
Armored Tortoise Potions can be crafted in your Crafting Menu (to be opened by pressing "q" as the default key), but only after obtaining the corresponding crafting recipe from The Great Pumpkiru, either during a Pumpkiru's Candy Campaign Halloween event, or by summoning The Great Pumpkiru with a Mysterious Bauble.
How to unlock the crafting recipe
You can learn all of the rare crafting Recipes that you can obtain either by clicking on their icon in your inventory/bag with the right mouse button (by default).
Then the crafting Recipe will vanish from your inventory and a message will appear telling you that you have successfully learnt this rare Recipe. You can then find it in your Crafting Menu, where it will be permanently available, even on worlds with the "Pro" world option "world-bound recipes" enabled.
If you already know this rare Recipe and obtain it again, the new one will have a check mark over its icon and you cannot learn it a second time.
How to craft
To craft 3 Armored Tortoise Potions, you'll need:
- 1 Arcstone obtained as loot or pet harvest from any kind of Keepas or Baby Leafis
- 1 Rockster Rock obtained as loot or pet harvest from Rocksters (or similar mobs), or made in the Forge from Pebble's Pebble
- 1 Water found on the surface or obtained as loot from Karrotfishes
- 1 Igneous Rock found in the Lava layer
How to use
Use this potion by putting a (stack of) Armored Tortoise Potion(s) into any quickslot, then selecting this slot and clicking your right mouse button.
Alternatively you can drag a (stack of) Armored Tortoise Potion(s) from the inventory over your character's portrait on the right side.
When consumed, an Armored Tortoise Potion will reduce any damage you take by 75% for 5 minutes. This stacks with the effect of the Brawler badge for a total of 90% damage reduction. On the other hand, it also reduces the effect of any heal-over-time effects (such as from eating Mushrooms or standing in Mineral Water by 75% as well. It will also halve your jump height and reduce speed by 50% for the same duration. This speed reduction stacks additively with other effects that affect speed - e.g. since a Quick™ potion gives a speed boost of 100%, if you consume it together with the Armored Tortoise Potion, you will get a speed boost of 50%.
Unlike most other potions, Armored Tortoise Potions can be put into displays, where it will be shown as a round glass bottle with a brown cork. If the display is painted, the primary color will affect the color of the cork, and the secondary color will affect the color of the bottle.
