Basic Information[]
Armor is equipped in order to help your player character to survive attacks from animals and other players (only when PvP is enabled, which it is by default) in Creativerse.
All armor parts can be crafted for free after their crafting recipes have been unlocked by crafting or obtaining armor parts of lower tier, except for the Leather Breastplate that can be crafted from an already unlocked starter crafting recipe. As of now, the Store will not provide you with any Armor parts, only with Costumes that will merely change the look of your player character.
Many parts of armor can be found in randomly spawning Treasure Chests, while all Diamond Armor can be looted or pet-harvested from Things that spawn on Corrupted Blocks like can be found on the Corruption layer deep underground. Only Lumite Armor, the best armor in Creativerse, can not be found anywhere, but only be crafted by players.
Since update R55 on August 22nd 2018, all equipped armor is worn invisibly and will provide defense points, while you can select Costumes parts (some of which look like plate armor, leather boots or the like) individually to customize the look of your player character.
In Creativerse, the defense points of armor will not protect player characters from falling damage or from from environmental effects like freezing, burning, drowning, being corrupted etc. nor from afflictions/elemental attacks like poison damage (over time).
To protect your character from environmental effects and falling damage, you can brew Potions in your Crafting Menu (opened with "q" as the default key) or you can cook many types of Food at the Cooking Station that can even turn elemental damage into an healing effect (over time).
When being hit by any Creature, the according armor piece that has been hit will lose a bit of durability each time, until it will fall apart completely in the end. Each tier of armor - ranging from Leather to Lumite - can withstand more hits and such has increasing durability, similar to Power Cells and Weapons.
Currently, armor cannot be repaired nor can it be enhanced (enchanted, reinforced, imbued, boosted...).
With the R31 update on May 18th 2016, player characters models got customizable, and the formerly existent helmets were replaced with shoulder pads to support additional future customization options. Hats and even Heads (like the Calavera Cabeza) can now be worn in the shape of Costumes.
Durability[]
You can view the durability-state of each armor part on its icon to the right side of your character "doll" in the equipment-window of your inventory. The durability is displayed as a green bar overlaying the icon that will only start to appear when the armor is damaged for the first time. Then the bar will shrink until the armor is destroyed and will vanish by that. Undamaged armor parts will not have any bar at all.
The defense points of armor parts is not affected by the loss of durability, not even if it will soon fall apart.
Currently there are 4 armor equipment slots for one armor part each to outfit player characters in Creativerse, visible to the right of the 3D character model in the inventory/bag window.
You can also see a small white mannequin icon in the right bottom corner on your main game screen. Each newly equipped piece of armor is at first shown in green color on the mannequin and will keep its green color even after the armor has been damaged only a bit - to indicate that the armor still has a rather good durability.
Pieces of armor on the mannequin will change their color to yellow when the durability of the armor has been reduced, and the color will turn red when the armor is seriously damaged, signalizing that the armor part will have to be replaced soon.
When a piece of armor is completely destroyed, a small message informing you about this incident will appear on the screen. The according part of the mannequin will become white again and the equipment slot next to the character model in the inventory will be empty. You will not receive any materials nor the ruined armor piece itself, instead it will simply disappear when falling apart.
Armor, just like all other equipment, cannot be repaired in Creativerse.
